Boomerang's Gourmet Veggie & Meat Pies will celebrate its sixth anniversary and Australia Day on January 28th. Open since Australia Day 2006, Boomerang's has brought Aussie meat and veggie pies to the Austin culinary landscape. Benefitting Meals on Wheels and More, the anniversary celebration will feature food and drink specials, live entertainment, a silent auction and the much anticipated fourth annual "fastest to eat a pie" contest.
Keeping in standing with our tradition, a portion of the proceeds from all frozen pie sales throughout the week of Australia Day will be donated to Meals on Wheels and More. Boomerang's customers can make donations to the local charity at the restaurant. Also benefitting Meals on Wheels will be a silent auction and the third annual, Fastest to Eat a Pie Contest. Win the contest and get free Boomerang's Pies for a year! Current record is 38 seconds!
Saturday Specials will include:
- Free Aussie sausage roll (with donation to MOWAM)
- Kids under 12 eat free (with adult purchase)
- $3.50 Aussie Beers (Cooper's, Pale Ale, Sparkling, Stout & Lager James Boag's)
- Gift Card Specials
Saturday Schedule of events:
- 12:00: Jumpy castle for kids
- 4:00: Live DJ GMAU
- 5:00: Pie eating contest
- 6:00 Meat tray raffle (benefiting Austin Crows)
- 9:00 Silent auction ends (do not have to be present to win)
- All Day: Great pies, cold beer
